Theseus Activity

For the next two days, we will be reading the story of the hero Theseus, but we will be reading it in a non-traditional manner. For heroes, making the right choices is imperative: one wrong move and you're dead. Using the interactive format of this website, YOU will make Theseus' decisions for him and lead him to his destiny. You will die plenty of times, but Nintendo-style reincarnation will restore you to life, time and time again. Then you're free to try a different approach.

If you would prefer the Edith Hamilton approach, feel free to simply read the thirty page story out of your book. Fun isn't for everyone.

INSTRUCTIONS:

DAY ONE: Take Theseus through the first part of his story. Then come back to the blog and write about your adventure. (Keep track of how many times you die and include that in your post-journey summary.) You may start on part two today if you finish writing about part one. To save your place, bookmark the page you are on.

Go to the blog and write about your first day's journey. After you're done with this, you can go back and start the second part, which is much harder.

DAY TWO: Finish Theseus' quest. Then come back to the blog and write about the second leg.

Also answer these questions:

What is heroic about Theseus? What isn't?

How do choices impact a person's life?

Is being a hero easy?

Do you prefer this method of storytelling to a regular narrative? Why or why not?

GOOD LUCK! (REMEMBER: Try to have a little bit of fun.)

My journey was grusome to say the least. I first didn't lift the rock and my story was over. Then I chose to lift the rock then talk to my mother. Then i got a sword and headed towards athens. I took the right path and died. then i took the left path and died. then i took the middle path and died. then i took the right path and made it to athens. I spoke to the urchin and he helped me get to the king. I toasted him then the story was over.
I died around 15 times.

Overall, Theseus died like 30 times in my story. I'm thankful I was born in the 90's; I don't think eighties forms of entertainment would have suited me well. Anyway, back to the story. Theseus starts out down a path, is pushed, kicked, and every other option available on the web. He finally makes it near the king only to be seduced, lied to, and various other misfortunes. Finally, he makes it to the great hall, toasts the king and is reunited with his father. Yee-haw.

In my journey I chose to only ask my mother if something was wrong once because I figured she will tell me when she’s ready. If I asked her twice then she’ll get annoyed and possibly kill me. I found out who my father was and I didn’t show any expression on my face but I was surprised inside. I chose to not lift the rock because I felt that I didn't have to prove that i should be King to a man that abandoned me. My story was over and i even though i didn't take any adventurous tasks, I lived.

Theseus comes to his mother one day and says that he would like to meet his father. His mother tells him that he has to be very strong in order to meet his father so Theseus begins to train. He had been training for a while when he realizes his mother is upset. He asks her what is wrong and she tells him that she's so upset that his father had ran away from them and that he is now the king in Athens. In order to meet him he must be able to lift a boulder to get the sandals and the sword his father once held and take them to him and he will accept Theseus as his son. As Theseus and his mother are standing at the boulder he pauses and speaks to his mom, his mother's energy and fire go into him and he lifts the boulder with all his might retrieving the sandals and the sword. He then asks his mother's opinion on which way to get to Athens, he asks how bad the sea would be. She says that the sea would be far less worse than land and that he might see pirates but it's a short journey. As he arrives at a port he see's a sailor, he decides to not speak to the sailor and just go into the town. As he gets into the town he can feel someone following him and a man jumps in front of him, Theseus goes for his sword and before he knows it the man gets out his knife and Theseus dies.

Well to kick things off in my story i chose to be a loser and not lift the rock and then it ended. When i went back i took the task and went to athens by land. the fat man killed me the first time but then i bit him in the nose and he died. later on i get into a fling with the veiled women but that didnt last long and then i died a few times but finally i toasted with my father and then we partied, supposedly.

My journey was alright I died around 12 times most of them were in Medea's lair but some were the rock and some were the bottom of the sea.

In this story I trained to become strong so I could meet my father and then one day my mother is weeping and I chose to continue working out on the beach. Then she stops me and tells me that my father is the king of Athens and if I can move this boulder I can get his sword and sandals and go see him. I try to do this and die. Well then I try again this time I roll it and live. Next I travel by land to go see my father/king. I come to a three way fork in the road and I picked the middle path and died by an old man after I agreed to follow him. Okay so here we go again this time I pick the left path and this crazy old guy runs at me and I let him approach he tells me of beast of Hades on the road I decided to continue on my way. I run into sinius and I chose to grab the rope and I defeat him. Then I arrive in Athens and I speak to the urchin and he gives me an in to see the king. After I say that I’m here to help the king with his problem they have me drink from a cup but instead I stand up and toast the king and he sends his witch away to be killed because she tried to king his heir.

I am also glade that i have a car so i dont have to travel by boat or walking i would probaly flipp. I hope that we do more of this kinda stuff it hepls people learn in a fun way!!!

theseus started out well, choosing to talk to his mother, and to travel the sea. but he made the mistake of drawing his sword when threated to be killed and died. then when he was choosing who to talk to he just could not make the right desicion. finally when choosing right he fell into temptation, but finally ending in reuniting with his father.

My journey was somewhat eventful. I only died twice. first I died at the rock then I died because I lied to Medea and she dicided I shouldn't live. Im glad i took the urchins advice, he helped me get into the palace and the second time I remembered I was trying to help the bearded man. So I told Medea that story, toasted the the king and I was reunited as his son.

At first my jorney was going pretty well, i got my sword and went on land and took the left route. but this dident go so well because when i declined the offer of taking the thorn out of his foot i was killed. pretty much it went down hill from there, i sayed the wrong things, talked to the wrong people, and died about 10 times after that. I also made the foolish decision to not drink from his cup, that got me killed again. I only died like 10 times but that was enough for one lifetime, but i do like this style of not knowing what to do.

Theseus trained his whole life to be strong enough to know the secrets of who was his father. once he did, he left home to become a hero, in search of kis father, a king. Along the way he finds that posiden is also his father, and helped him to keep his life. the things his father laft him helped him along teh way. he finally reached athens and heard about the sacrifices and spoke to the urchan. He then spoke with meda, the queen, who was evil. When he met the king, he gave a toast because he knew the wine was poisened. The king recognised the sword.. and they reunited... yay for them.

I asked my mother what was wrong at first but then i just lifted the rock. I took the left rocky path becasue usaly in stories they make everything harder and never easy for the hero. I didnt want to die so i refused to help the guy becasue i had a bad feeling about him. I spoke to everyone but the urchin last even though it should had been first. I knew the cup had to have something in it so i tried to wait it out. I didnt die that many times just like 4 or 5 times.

o and i died twice.....

He wants my sword, so I draw my sword. A storm comes and they think I've angered the gods. I try to escape and I die. and then i die again. I died like 10 or more times..

My journey was pathetic. I died around 30 times. Madea was just rude and decided to kill me for practically no reason, I decided it was impossible to get past her after about the third time she killed me.

Anonymous said...

The beginning was easy for me I talked to my mom then lifted the boulder. After asking her opinion I chose to go by sea. I then talked to the Captain. I drew my sword out and gained his respect. While on the ship I choose to be thrown overboard, from there I swam towards the lights and ended up in Athens. I then talked to the urchin who talked to his dad and set up a meeting with the king. On the way there I had to talk to Medea who killed me 2 times. After that I toasted the King and my story was over. So I only died 2 times.

I did very terrible in my journey. I died just about 30 or 35 times. I started off lifting the boulder trying to show off, but i died. Some of the things in here i don't understand how i was killed but at least i was finally able to reunite with my father.

My journey didnt go to bad i mean i died probably 7 or so times. I alway went with the answer that least sounded right cause usually in these stories thats the way to go. I started off really well but then i decided to kick the man instead of bite him and i died. As much as the urchin was invading my personal life i decided to accept his offering and then toasted the king and well it was the right thing to do and i was reunited with my father.

I died 7 times during my adventure. I got past the rock easily and most of my journey was succesful. Once I got to Athens I couldnt figure out who to talk to and I couldnt get to the king. When I finally got to the king, I toasted him and was reunited with him.

I did the impossible! I never died once in the whole story! A long time ago, I remember reading these kind of stories. They were the best. Here is how you survive: First, talk to your mother, then ask mother's opinion of the sea, travel by sea, ask for passage to athens, draw your sword and strike him, do nothing, tell him to throw you overboard, swim toward the light, speak to the urchin, agree, come to help the king, ending his sacrifices to crete, and toast to the king! CONGRATS!!

Anonymous said...

My journey was a waste of time. The reward for me going through seven deaths was to meet my father who murders(sacrificies) children.
I usually like these kinds of story but I got really frustrated when trying to convince Medea to let me see the king.

Anonymous said...

When i first stared my journey i was doing really good until i wen t down the right road of the trail. Instead of grabbing the rope i chose to stab the beast which led to my death the first time. After that i made it to Athens and had the man introduce me to his father, but before that i was killed by the woman with spice scented skin. Anyways after he introduced me and i went it i talked to Madea and thats when i got killed, lets just say a coulple times. First i said to reunite with my father, i died, then after a couple more mishaps i picked 'help the king' and then i messed up more when she asked what for but finally i got it all right and was takin to meet the king in his hall. After that the option of drinking the cup or toasting came up and thankfully i didnt die this time and then the story was over.

In the beginning of the story Theseus asked his mother what was wrong and she eventuially told him about his fater, the king, and that Theseus must go reunite him to his father. On his journey by land, he asked an eurchan to help with getting past the gaurds. After getting in, he told medea he was here to help the king build the city. Theseus died. After choosing another path he choose to tell her he here to help with the sacrifices. He went to dinner and toasted the king and is reunited with his father. Theseus only died once.

Yeahh my journey didn't go so well, I died the first time by trying to lift the boulder on my own without talking to my mother first. After recieiving my sandals and sword, I chose to go by sea because after reading about both of them it sounded safer. After being thrown over board by my loyal crew I swam down to posiedon and he sent me back up onto my ship and I made it the rest of the way to Athens. That's pretty well where all my troubles started. I was killed..severalll times by medea's gaurds before finally choosing to help with the sacrafices of the city. Then I didn't want to risk drinking out of the cup so I toasted the king instead and he saw my sword. He realizes I am his son and then, story over...

Anonymous said...

I left him to die right away with the boulder, but then went back to sail across the seas and then led to die several more times by either the work of the men on board, or by the crashing of the ship itself. I spoke to the veiled woman first, not realizing what she was. I probably would have died or something if I had not refused. Then the urchin boy led me to the Keep? and Medea killed me a little bit, but I toasted my cup to the King and it was all better. No poison, but REUNITED!

People today should consider themselves lucky. In ancient Greece you had to cheat death atleast eight times before you could be reunited with your dead-beat father. Now a days we have celebrites such as Maury and Montel to help restore the illegitamate families of the 21st century. I really hope that there are a few cats in Theseus's family tree, he's going to need all nine of those lives.

My journey was not all that bad. I died like three times. I lifted that rock and it killed me. Then i didn't lift the rock and i got this sword. after all that i made it to Athens where i met my father who was going to poison me because he was jelous of me. Then i tried something else and i toasted the king and my journey ended.

well i died about 4 times it was a tricky journey and has several baffling moments.this journey started by my mother telling me to grow strong so i did so and then i moved a crazy boulder and found things that belonged to my father a sword anf a pair of sandals. i then went on a journey to find him i decided to travel by sea and killed a man to get a boat. the crew then tried to kill me and i went overboard and saw a weird light went to it and poseidon said he was my dad and i floated to athens safely. once i was there i had to deal with medeas trickery but i got past h er and when i stood to toast the king he said he was my father and the cup was poisoned medea vanished.i was then united with my real father. the end.

Anonymous said...

When on the adventure theseus had died about 12 times. First the adventure was over when i choose not to move the rock. Then he was killed by trying to swim to shore instead of the light. Theseus died mainly on the part where there was four people he had to pick from to talk to. finnaly I picked the right person and Urchin helped me with getting to the king.

I almost didn't make it through my journey, but like a cat i came back to life. At first i died from the boulder falling on me, after i got too cocky. Than i died once again, when a crowd of men stabbed me to death when i decided to ignore a man on the side of the road. The rest of my journey was pretty heroic though. When i met both my fathers and made it Athens sucessfully. I also restored my father's life and kingdom to him by exposing the terrible with Medea for who she really was. You only die twice.

my journey was really fun. but i died 5 times. i loved reading choose your own adventure books as a child. i mostly read the goosebumps version of them though.but i really enjoyed learning about thesus and his journey so far. i made it to the end where medea whigged out and dissappeared.

The journey that I have taken has been life changing. After years of wanting to know my father's identity, my mother tells me that he is a king and I am his heir. My mother told me that in order to united with him once again, I had to prove that I was strong enough to lift a large boulder. I was hesitant at first, but I attempted and was successful. After that, I chose to take the path by the sea because my mother made it sound dangerous. After meeting a sailor, I asked if I could join his ship and begin my journey. He only agreet to this if I gave him my sword. This seemed incredibly foolish so I took out my sword to show my fierceness. The captain saw this and decided to let me join the crew. When a storm came, the crew blamed me saying I had angered one of the Gods. I suggested that they throw me into the sea. If they believed it was my fault, they would kill me immediately. If I'm thrown into the sea, I have a chance of surviving. Once under the water, I saw a bright light. I decided to swim towards it and see what was causing it. I found myself face-to-face with Poseidon, the king of the sea. He told me he was my father because my father was with him and the king on the same night. He gave me his blessing and brought me to the surface. The crew of ship now believed I was Poseidon and took me to my destination in fear of "my wrath". Once in Athens, I saw three people standing there. One was a dark looking woman. She seemed too dangerous for me so I stayed away. I met a crying old man and he told me of his daughter's misfortune. I agreed to help her however I could. Then, the short, quirky-looking fellow told me he could get me in the castle of Athens. His father was guard whom announced my presents. I was escorted to Medea, a witch. I told her I came to help the king and get rid of the sacrifing done in the kingdom. The king wanted to meet with the two of us. We had drinks together but I didn't trust that my drink hadn't been poisoned by Medea. To stall, I toasted to the king. At that point, he saw my sword, the one that proved I was his son and he rejoiced. He sended Medea away because she wanted to kill me. My journey from this point is unknown but I'm excited to know what happens. I died two times thus far. Once the road, attacked by a group of thieves, and once by the crew of the ship when I didn't tell them the storm wasn't my fault.

My journey was an interesting one with plenty of reincarnation. I seemed to die the most around that blasted theif off to the left. No matter, I bit him in the end. Then I got lured off in the city and was klled by the seductress. That was sad. Finally I was reunited with my father and the evil witch Medea was banished. How fun!

I seemed to die numerous times in the story I might have lived like maybe once. Everytime I would go with my instinct then I would die. I think I just need other people to think for me. Maybe stop and ask for help sometimes because it seems that I cant do it for myself. Over all I think that this was a good thing for us to do because it gave us a chance to have some fun and learn more about Theseus than we might just reading the story out of a book or listening to a lecture about it.

My trip started by choosing to go to Athens by Sea. On the boat, I got thrown off but I got put back on the ship by the help of Poisidon. The men thought I was a God. When i arrived in Athens, I went to speak to Medea who tried to poison me. i was finally reunited with my father and Medea was gone forever. I died at least eight times.

Through out this whole story I died like a total of 20 or more times. I thought the idea of this story was pretty sweet other than the fact like every other pick of mine ended up in death. Everyone that has read this should know how the story goes so I dont really know if I am going to go all into it but I did get to finaly meet my father by giving a toast to the King. I am just so glad I am done with the story now..now on to better things in life!

My journey was alright, for the most part. I mean, I died four times, but at least I got to the end. First I died walking on land and getting jumped by bandits. Second time, I was killed by Philemon before the ship sank. The third time, the guards killed me, and the fourth time I died, i was poisoned. But at the end, I was victorious.

My journey was insane. I died like a million times and had to keep "going back the way I came." I told my mother that I would go look for my father, I lifted the rock thingie and got the sword and sandals. Then I set off for Athens. When I got there I died like 5 times. Then I finally got on the boat, and they had to throw me overboard. I learned that Poisiden was one of my fathers, weird. Then I got to Athens. I ran into a little boy, an old man, and a prostitue. I died or had to go back the way I came from and start all over. I finally made it into the castle and met Media. She was evil and did not like me one bit. We were led to a banquet and there I saw the king. He asked me to drink from his cup and I was about to take a sip when he told me to stop. he said it was poisoned and he also said he recognized the sword. He got all teary eyed and happy to know I was his son. Media vanished and we were reunited at last! The end.

okay, so thesus was born without a father being there of course. He had no idea who the father was. His mom told him that if he grew up strong then she would tell him who his father was. He agreed to it, he grew up strong and found out that his father was the king. So he had to lift a rock and roll and would get a sword and sandals to take him on his journey to find his father. He decided to walk. He went to the right with the shaded trees and had to fight sinis. he hung on rope and defeated sinis with the rope. Then he got to where he met up with the urchant and the urchant got him past the gaurds and he met his father.

I do believe I only died 10 or so times. I discovered this game the first time we got on this site so i knew what to do up until we had to lift the rock. Then i died. But after being brought back to life several times, sailing with a fat man, almost drowning following a light, and talking to an urchin i found my father. I just didn't trust the drink they gave me so I gave a toast instead.

By some twist of fate i only died once. The one time i did die i had decided to tell Medea the truth, and to say in the least that didn't go so well. Although i made it to the end i still have many unanswered questions. So i don't think this was a very through story.

Well my story was quite interesting to say the least, i died only three times: once from the bandit, Sinis, once from the evil guy with the bed and once from the blasphemus witch Medea. the rest was quite easy if you just took the time to think, and talk to those around you! I left my mother by foot and took the right path where i talked to the old man and then went to sinis. i got killed by him once then killed him the second time. i then went to the city and talked to everyone in sight. i then let the boy take me to the king, where i met medea and badmouthed her a bit. she killed me and i went back and won mwahahahhahahahhahahahhahahahahahahhahahahahhaah!!!!!!!!!! :)

I journey was a long and boring one. Everything that you expect to happen to a price/ hero does. I was able to go and make it on a boat to head to Athens, a horrible storm was a threat to all the people on the ship, so I told them to throw me over, sacraficing myself. As they did that the Sea God, my other father, ironically enough, helped me out and sent me back to the ship above. I then made it to Athens and talked to people to help me get into the Palace because the guards wouldn't let me in. I talked to the urchin boy and he then went and told his father that I, a hero, was in Athens. I then made it into the Palace for a feast and to talk to my dad. But before I could go do that, I had to talk to the high prisest. Even though I didn't want to do that. That is as far as I got before Hamby made me write this..

I clearly would never be a great hero I must have died at least ten times. i died on the ship, then a "streetwalker" killed me, and no matter what I did Meada killed me. I never even got to finish my story.

I died every possible way, and when I met Poseidon I was so confused. Then after going to Medea's chamber for the 50th time I decided to talk to all the other people, then I learned about Crete. Then I finally made it to the King, and when I toasted I was happy to see that Medea jerk die. This overall took like an hour for me. I died a lot.

I am happy to say that I only died a mere 3 times. I was expecting to fall short of my life many more times, but these stories have become somewhat predictable, so making the right decisions weren't too much of a challenge. This "game" is definitely interesting. :)

In my journey, I probably died about 10-15 times. I went back and took a different path countless times, but kept ending up dead. I believe that deciding who to talk to in the city and what to tell the high preistess were the hardest parts. I finally told the preistess to mind her own business and toasted the king. =)

my journey as Theseus was fairly bland to say the least... he only died twice in my story. once i died in the beginning and the second time i died was in Medea's lair... overall not a bad story.

I died 3 times overall in part one. I enjoyed it very much because it was hard to do the appropriate thing and picking the safest option isn't always the best option. I lifted the rock and went by land. I didn't die until I went down the middle path. Then I had no problems until I got to the priestess Medea and once I figured out that she she would kill me for any honesty whatsoever. I filled out the rest of the story without problems.

I then went toward Athens and reached the palace, a young urchin helped me into the castle. I was once killed by the guards but I came back. After, i was almost poisoned by my father but he realized who i was and saved me from the poison of the priestess.

Well that was intresting. Like Try I didn't lift the rock in the begining so my story ended pretty quickly. I got my sword and set sail. That part took a while because I kept dying thanks to that sailor. I guess fighting all the time doesn't solve your problems. (I've been playing too much Oblivion) I finally got to the city and that was troublesome. I talked to the old man, nothing. Then I took my chances with the women. Not a good idea because she killed me. I went to the palace guard and tried to fight my way in but that was asking for trouble and I was killed. So finally I talked to the urchin and that was the right one. Who would have thought huh? Then Medea wanted me to drink from the cup but if you couldn't see that it was a plot to kill you with poison then maybe you need help dressing yourself. So I toased the king, he saw that I was his son, and I won. I died nine times. Man it's like one of my matches in Call Of Duty.

My journey was ridiculous! First I chose to go by land, but after dying multiple times I decided to go all the way back and chose to go by sea instead. I died various ways on my journey by sea as well. However, in the end it was the journey by sea that led me to the correct ending of the story. I died over ten times on my journey. Obviously I never would have made it if this had been real life. Good thing I'm not a greek hero.

i took my journey by the sea and found out that Posiden was my father, i died 4 times

I started out the story, and after I left my mother, I was shanked three times: one by lanky men and twice by Philemon. Luckily, once I got to Athens, I did not die again. Medea is a skank. She is pure evil in the form of a witch. She tried to POISON me, in front of my father!!! But, my father realized what was happening, and he saved me.

My journey's success came after a handful of deaths at different points in the story. It took me a while to die for the first time, I made it a ways down the middle path, but not far along the right path. After a few smart choices, I made it down the left path. In the process I took a nap, bit a fat man on the nose, and upon reaching the agora of Athens, died several times by talking to the wrong people. By using the process of elimination, I was able to find the right way to my father's throne and reunite with him.

My journey wasn't so bad. I didn't die many horrible deaths, I only died a handfull of times(two). Where are the Pheonix downs when I need them? Being addicted to the Choose your own adventure books, I've gained a sixth sense about these things. The first time I died was when I decided to go by sea. The second was when I decided to stab the bandit; both ended(very)badly...Since I'm rather misanthropic, I'm not going to help people get through this by relating my tale. Go die many times!

I didn't really die that much in my story. I followed the steps with what seemed like the appropriate thing to do and I made it through. His mother told him about his father being the king of Athens and since he is strong enough, he moves the boulder and gains his father's items to begin his quest to claim the fact that he is the heir of athens and to finally meet his father. He takes the sea to go to Athens and the pirates throw him over board when they believe the gods want him dead. He finds out that Poesidon is his "other father", and then he is washed up on the shores of athens. The urchin helps him get into the palace to see the king and Medea is thrown out of the palace. Then Theseus can claim his throne.

I used to read these books all the time. I loved them, and I guess I was so good at them before that I only died twice.

In my journey i died seven times. I trained to become strong like my mother wanted me too. She told me about my father and the boulder fell on me and i died. I chose the middle path then and met an old man who told me about a murderer from the underworld whom i killed. i eventually made it to Athens and i went up to the palace and the guards there killed me. i went back down to the marketplace and talked to a lady who wasn't much help so i denied her request. I talked to an urchin boy and he led me up to the palace and i got to go inside. i told Medea why i was there and died several times doing this. I told her i was there to stop the sacrifices and the king called me to the banquet. There i was given a cup but sensed it was posioned so i gave a toast to the king and then drank and he found out i was his son. He had Medea killed and i was reunited with my father.

Wow. What a fun and challenging game?! I started by unveiling the shoes and the sandals. I made my way on my journey to find the king. My life was short lived seeing as to how i died 3 times. Maybe next time, Theseus should make better choices!

Theseus begins his journey when he is aproached by his mother and told of his father. He takes his fathers sword and sets out for Athens. Along the way he sees an old man looking down. The old man tells him of a bandit ahead but he will lead him safely. Theseus Ignored him and continued only to find out that the old man was the bandit. In Athens his fathers Consort tries to poison him but his father recognizes Thesius's Sword. I never died.

My Journey was not so great. I started out pretty well and then I just started dieing right and left. Oh Well. I trusted too many people. I died about four times, so not so many, but thats a lot for me. I think theseus is a very bold hero, traveling on a path, killing two people, and then having to tlak to a bunch of creepers in the marketplace, I wouldn't like it. I want to find some of the Choose your own adventure books...those sound fun! I think Theseus is a brave hero! He will succeed, hopefully.

I managed to only die about 5 times. I decided to lift the rock and then go by sea to Athens to find my father. I died on sea by a couple of times. First by the scary bandits along the coast and then by swimming toward the surface when I got thrown off instead of the light. When I reached Athens I talked with the little boy who led me to the palace. I then died by being honest with the Priestess. Finally, I came to my sensed and lied which helped me become reunited with my wrinkly old father. Luckly, he at least warned me about the poison in the cup. Yay!

My journey as theseus was pretty bloody. I died five times. I took the sea to go to Athens to find my father. The people who let me join them on thier ship tried to kill me, but threw me overboard instead. I was saved by Posiedon, God of the seas, who told me that I was his son. He propelled me to the shore and a boy helped me enter the king's palace. I then met Medea. She was rude to me. She had me meet the king who offered me a drink from his cup. I stood and toasted the king. He told me not to drink from the cup because it was poisoned. He told me the sword I had was the sword he left for his son and that he was my father. Thats what happened in my story

When I played this game I was expecting it to be easier and it was very hard. I did think that Thesus was kind of heroic to an extent just because he had the courage to move the boulder, go on the journey and face the king. The game over all was hard, I made a lot of bad decisions. I died 17 times. I don't think that game was for me. :)

My journey took a long time to finish. I tended to choose the wrong option so I died a lot. I was doing pretty well until Theseus got to Athens and had to talk to several different people. After that I kept dying because I didn't talk to the old man. I didn't know what I needed to help the King with so in the end I had to choose them all. I made a few wrong choices with the sorceress, but I finally finished.

In my story of Theseus' journey to reunite with his father, I died about 6 times. I first died when I tried to pull away the boulder before asking my mother's advice. Once I finally retrieved the sword and sandals, i chose to continue my journey by sea. I died once more by ignoring the dirty salior and going on into town. I finally gathered a crew and set sail to Athens. I died about twice on the journey to Athens while trying to escape the crew and trying to sail along the coast. When in Athens, I died once more when I was seduced by a gypsy-like woman in the marketplace. Then I met the urchin boy who took me to the palace to meet my father. I died two more times trying to figure out Medusa's plan for the kings end. I was finally reunited with my father when I stood to toast the king and refused to drink the poison. I enjoyed the story and I'm very thankful for Nintendo-style reincarnation.

well, in my journy I may not have made the wisest of choices but after dieing about 12 times, I would like to think I finally got a hold on it. I lifted the boulder after getting an ego boost from my crazy mother, then I went by sea refused to give the seaman my sword, went into town and was killed. Went back went by land, took the left path which led to more bad decisions, which than led to my death, again. Went back and took the right path, kill insane man, carried him which led to my death.....as you can probably see there is a pattern in my mistakes, which ends in my tragic defeat (if this were real) but since its not I have infinite lives. MWhahahahahaha.......

this game was alot harder than i thought it would be..making the right decisions isnt always an easy task. i died like 12 times. i died the most when i had to talk to medea.she pretty much had no heart and didnt want theseus to talk to his father. but in the end i finally reunited theseus with his father (:

in my journey i only died 2 times. i died once when i decided to go to town instead of getting on the boat. the second time i died i suggested that we sail closer to shore. but that definitely didn't work. After that i guess i just got lucky and chose all the right options. I finally met my dad and even learned that Poisiden is my dad as well.

The journey to Athens was a tough one. It was a tough walk through the mountains and I almost met the end with the fat guy but I bit his nose. Luckily i made it to Athens without dying but I had to trick the priestess into not killing me and some how get to my father. I got into the banquet and I avoided drinking from the cup of poison as much as possible. When I toasted the King he saw my sword and we were reunited. Luckily I didn't die.

Then i went down the right path and i made it to athens. Then i died because i let the veiled lady seduce me. Oops. Anyway i made i to see my father and we lived happily ever after. :)

my journey was pretty bad. My first mistake was going by sea. When I went by land i figured out that the three guys you meet are the three bandits your mom tells you about. But i still died cause i tryed to avoid them. After that i talked to the white bearded guy and offered to help him, then i talked to the urchin who got me into to castle. Then i made it all the way to the king and toasted him and ended the first part of my story, woooo! I died about 6 times.

I get to athens and medea wants to kill me because she thinks im not here to help my father the king. My father sees me and has medea killed and im finally reunited with my father.

So far Theseus has encountered some sticky situations. I lifted the rock and traveled by sea. Before i could book a passage i had to threaten a scary fat guy. Then i volunteered to be thrown over board and found out Posiden was my pops. You should talk to the old guy, dont get invovled with the hoochy and let the urchin help you. I died three times before i got it right.

Im my journey i only died three times. When i found out who my father was my mother sent me to lift the bolder. But the bolder crushed me in my attempt. I survived and then traveled the seas finding out that i have two fathers the king and poseidon. Poseidon saves me when i am thrown over board and i finally make it to athens. Once at athens i meet an urchin who tells me their father is a gaurd for the king who can help me get through the gates. I meet medea who takes me to the king and i must then cheers to the king and drink from the cup. but the wine is poison and before i am to die the king notices that i have his sword. he realizes that medea was to have me killed so in return he has her killed.

I only died like 4 times. Judging from everyone else i guess i did pretty well and i can infer that i must be a hero at heart.
I grew strong and reluctantly left my mother to set sail on my journey to find my missing father. At times it was physically pressing and always mentally pressing. I found that i was birthed from two fathers, a god and a mortal. I made my way to both. When i arrived at the kingdom i used wit to get rid of medusa and be with my mortal father forever.

I decided to ask my mother what was wrong one time and then she acted like she didn't want to tell me so I didn't ask again. I chose to go by land. I took the far right path and died. so then i took the far left and came to a man who needed help with a thorn and then a fat man who wanted to eat me. I bit him even though i didn't want to because it was below me and went on. I found a boy who was the son of a guard and had him come with me to go before me to the king. I said i was here to help with the sacrafises and then toasted the kind when i got there. I died 6 times.

If I die, I would just go back and choose another route.I can honestly say I cant remember which ways I took to finish I clicked on a bunch before I was done. It would not be easy to be a leader.Yeah if I had read the story before I would have known where to go and which way to take. This was an ok activity.

I died a total of six times on my journey. Medea was the least of my problems, which seemed to be other peoples problems. I died when i moved the rock, and i made the mistake of trying to run from crazy boat men. I made it to the city and didnt know who to talk to, so i talked to everyone. It led to alot of dead ends and i ended up going off with the girl, which led to another death. Medea had no power over me and i got back to my father.

Well i died five times. WOOT! lol. not really to exciting. He works out everyday all day until his mom tells him who his dad is. moves a boulder, gets the sword and shoes. he goes to a guy on a ship, get thrown off, poseidon claims him his son, pops back onto the ship. goes to athens. talks to his dad, gets a poisoned cup. the which disappears. the end. so far. kinda sucks. lame and kinda slow. cant wait for part two.

My journey was a tricky one. I started off dying by getting cocky and thinking I could life the boulder without my mother's pump up talk. It smashed me. Then, I decided to get raise my sword to the dirty ship guy, and he let me on. When he told me the gods were angry, i tried to kill him but he called me then. So i jumped off the ship and swam to a light. There, I ended up in Athens where I had the urcher help get me inside the castle. Medea stopped me and killed me about 5 times, but that's ok cause I finally made it to my father. Then, I toasted to him and we were reunited.

My journey started out that i continued the training and i decided to lift the boulder and i died so i decide to not lift the boulder and talk to my mother instead. So then i got a sword and sandals and headed towards athens by sea. I draw my sword at the guy with the boat so i can get directions. So he starts taking me to Athens and as we approach Athens a storm is approaching us quickly. I decide to go to the shore and I die. Then I decide to do nothing exept hold on to the boat and once i get on land i talk to the urchin. He helps me with getting to the king. Then i toast my father and i am reunited. I died only 2 times.

I made it through the whole story without diying once. It started out with me taking the left path, killing the bandit, then i talked to the lady at Athens, but I did not go with her. Then I talked to the crying old man and told him that I would help him save his daughter. Finally I talked to the Urchin and he helped me get to the King. When I was told to drink from the cup, I toasted the king and he noticed my sword, then he got mad at Medea and she vanished. So I didnt die.

My story went somewhat smoothly. I only died twice when I tried to fight the sailor but before he knows it he stabbed me. Another time I died in the sea. I ended as a boring person once, as I gave up on finding my father. But, eventually, I found my way to the King's hall and was reunited with him, as I chose to stand up and say a toast and he saw my sword. He saw it and claimed me as his son.

Throughout my journey i died a total of sixteen times trying to be reunited with my father. Most of my deaths occured when I tried to journey through land. Finally I defeated the bandit and then after being killed by the veiled woman I talked to the urchin and then was killed by Medea many times. I soon was led to the feast where my father was. Medea gave my father, the king a cup from which to drink. He realized it was poisoned and charged Medea with attempted murder and sentenced her to the death penalty. The guards took her away but not before she got the last word in, cursing the king and his son.

I asked her what was wrong and she told me about how she was upset about my father leaving. She told me it was time to meet my dad. She told me that to meet my dad I had to lift a boulder and get some sword and some shoes. I lifted the bouder and got them and then I headed toward Athens. I took the right path and I had to battle some demon called the Pine Bneder. I died the first time but I tried again and i made it. I got to Athens and then I talked to some urchin and he brought me to the king. I toasted him when i met him and the story was over. I only died one time.

In my experience in the story, I died five times. I trained to be strong and died first when I wasn't able to lift the rock. I took the wrong way of going through the flat plane when an evil man killed me. Then, I went in the forest and defeated the beast by tying him to the trees with the rope and it ripped him and half. Then, I made ot to the palace, but was killed by Medea when I plotted to kill the King with her-which was a trick. Then, I was able to meet my father. I was almost poisoned, but the King recognized my sword.

My experience so far is I have died 12 times. At first I lifted the rock and died, instead of talking to my mother. I got the sword headed to town then I died. Then I went back and went a deferent way. I kept dying trying to get to Athens. The urchin guy helped me get to the King. Then I toasted the King. As a little boy my mother told me to train to be strong, so I could meet my father.

Anonymous said...

My journey started when I began training because my mother told me that if I did she would tell me about my father. Once I had become strong she told me that he is now the king of Athens and I began a journey to be united with him. I traveled by land and on the way killed the bandit on the middle path. I reached the agora and I talked to some of the people their and was presented before the king at a feast. I almost drank the poisoned cup but I was warned before I did. The king recognized my sword and realized I was his son and that is where it ended. I died four times on my journey. I was killed by a bandit, killed by a strange woman, I was sentenced to death, and I drank from the poisoned cup.

My journey was really really long. I died a bunch of times but in the end I stood up to give a toast and right before I drank from the cup the king saw his sward! so i lived!!

I made a lot of mistakes. I started out by automatically lifting the bouldar and I got squashed. I talked to my mother a bit and then proved how truly strong i am. Then i walked on land (obviously since i can't walk on sea) I first took the middle route and this brute grusomely killed me on an iron bed. Then i took the left route and a man threw me into the serpants mouth after i kicked him. So, on my fourth life I bit him and then took his donkey. So, I went along and made it to the castle and followed the urchin. He then took me to the pristess and I told her i was the king's heir. I died, again. Then I told her I was here to help the king rule the country. Died. then to kill the hydra. Died. Finally, i told her the right thing and made a toast to the king. I was then reunited with my father.

I died about two or three times in my journey. At first, I chose for Theseus to ignore asking for his mother's advice and he was smashed by the boulder. I also chose the wrong pathway and was murdered by a crazy old man with a table. After many trials, however, Theseus made it to the King's throne room. When standing to toast, the King noticed Theseus' sword and accepted him as his son.

Anonymous said...

Well, lets just say i died around...ugh...9 times... Poor Theseus has been stabbed, had several limbs cut off, and was murdered twice by the evil preistess. I learned that traveling by sea I would have met my true father, but perhaps I will soon find that out anyway. I also learned that any woman being described as "spicey" should never be trusted; that seems pretty obvious to me but... I also talked to the old man and found out that horrible sacrifices were being made to Crete. Always trust the old man! Except when he is a bad man trying to kill you. And so the journey continues...

Anonymous said...

It all started off really well in the beginning. Everyone around me was dying so I thought I was lucky...until I got killed every 5 seconds. About 8 times to be exact. That woman that tried to kill me by poisoning the wine...was horrid. I'm glad my father did something about her. I was then united with my father and lived happily ever after. Ha

Anonymous said...

The second part of my journey was more interesting. I learned of the history of the Minotaur(which is very sickening!) and then with the help of it's sister, I defeated it! Then did some rather sadistic vangoah-esque things with it's body. But for her help, I had to make her my queen; I did the manly thing and abandoned her on an Island in the middle of nowhere. Big Man! Unfortunetely, I forgot my promise to my father that white sails were for victory, and black sails were for my death...the black sails were used, and he killed himself.
Total deaths: 3
Level of awesome:20
He was heroic, yes in some ways; vowing to stop the sacrifices, killing a horrible beast, freeing captives, but then there were some not-so-heroic moves, such as; leaving his wife-to-be on an island, and just being an all around jerk. A person can be anybody they want to be, it's the choices they make that help them to be who they are. Being a hero is NOT easy! This was more involving and that did help me remember more, but nothing can beat reading so it's a draw for me.

The second part of my journey was much more frustrating. Actually, it was next to impossible. It seemed like I couldn't move without dying, let alone try to take over a ship, sneak into Crete, and prove my worth as the heir to my father, the King of Athens. However, I died close to twenty times in the process. I do believe that Theseus is heroic in a lot of ways, he does things for the right reasons. However, there is that selfish side in everyone that causes him to be cautious about his father, and the people of Athens. Obviously, choices impact a person's life significantly. Much like this story, every decision you make can be the difference between life and death. Being a hero is never easy, though. It is difficult to put others before yourself all the time.

My journey began sailing to crete and kill the king but first ive got to kill his half man half bullson and i succeed in killing him, lets just say i died alot of times, so if anyone reads this dont feel bad if u died alot. :)

Anonymous said...

The second half of my journey was horrible. I died way too many times to keep track. Whean I finally got out of prison and conquored the ship, we made it to Crete and talked to an old bearded man and his son at a prison there. I went down into the labrynth and waited for the woman, adrene(?). She quickly fell in love with me and she told me that if I married her she would tell me how to excape and kill the minataur (?).

I ended up leaving her behind on an island once we escaped Crete. And when I made it home I ruled the kingdom, happily.

1]What is heroic about Theseus? What isn't?
He got rid of Athen's debt to Cretee, and he didn't do it to help himself, he did it to make his father proud and to help crete.
He isn't heroic in the fact that he was a bit dishonest and lied to complete his task- he didn't really love Adrene.

2]How do choices impact a person's life? we are all faced with choices every day and some may not be as big as others, but every choice we make every day has some impact on our life, wether we realize it or not. Our chouces pae our path in life and determine where we end up.

Is being a hero easy?
Being a hero isnt an easy thing to do, it takes time to do great things and to get people to look up to you.

Do you prefer this method of storytelling to a regular narrative? Why or why not?
I like these, but it goes a lot quicker to just read a regular story. It gets annoying when you can't stay alive.

Overall, Theseus is very heroic. He wants to save Athens from Minos; he wants to free the slaves; he wants to be a good king; and he want to make his father proud. On the other hand, Theseus is a little conceited. He is strong, and he acknowledges it too much. Choices impact a person's life in every way. Every choice has a consequences. These consequences could be either good or bad. I don't think being a hero is easy because you have to multi-task a lot of things at once, and you have to be humble. Finally, I do not like this method of story-telling. It confused me too much; however, it was very thrilling. I also like reading out loud too because we can act a little, and it makes me laugh.

In my journey, I died at least 20 times. First i had this kid with a rat help me get my sword. Then i took over the ship. Then found Icurus and waited for the minotar's sister. I had to agree to marry her. Then i went in to this maze thing and overcome various absticals. Then the minitar attacked me, but i killed it. Then i left his sister there and went back home.

Anonymous said...

Part two was harder for me. When I was a prisionor it took me forever to get past that. Who would have thought that the rat boy would be a good friend? We made it to Athens and I befriended Daedalus and Icharis. I helped them escape but they left me high and try but thanks to Aphrodite I managed to get out of the trouble I was in. Then I learned about the king and his "son" the minotar. That was an intresting story let me tell ya. C'mon, a woman mating with a bull? That's just not right! But anyway I met the princess and she helped me to get to King Minos but I had to go through the labyrinth, well that's just great. Well after many trial and error I finally managed to beat the minotar. I got back to my ship and I had a tough choice to make. I abandoned the princess and made my way back home. I was made king by the end of the game and I won!
Deadification:10
Frustration level:5
What's herioc about Theseus is that he slays the beast stops the sarifices and frees the captives. What's not heroic about him is that he abandons the princess. One choice could be your last if you make the wrong one, like me with this game. Being a hero is very hard sometimes. Also I liked this kind of narrative. The whole "chose your own adventure" is pretty cool. I just wish it wasn't a hard.

Anonymous said...

part 2 didn't work out as well as part1. in part 2 i died at 15 times. the key was getting help from Aphrodite. she tells you the way through the Labyrinth. which was still hard to make it through. but i finally did and made it back to the ship safely.
Q1: theses is a hero because he is trying something his father, wouldn't even do.
Q2:well in this story choices can either keep you alive or kill you so you must think it through.
Q3: no being a hero is very stressful.

Anonymous said...

Well today during the 2nd part of his journey I didnt die much until I got to the boat, and the Labyrinth I died so much i lost track. I didnt like the ending because Theseu's dad dies because he forgot to change the sails on his boat!

What is heroic about Theseus is that he wants to help his father, what isnt is that he just jumps into things with out thinking.

Choices that you make in your life help determine who you are, if you make bad choices they will come back in harm you, if you make good choices they will help you in your life.

Being a hero is not easy because you have to do lots of stuff that is hard.

I prefer this way of reading alot more

In my second part of the journey I died SO many times. I was getting quite sick of it. From this next to impossible journey, I learned how Theseus is a hero in many ways. He is somewhat selfish, however. The choices that he made (which were sometimes extremely simple) impacted his life greatly. I decided that I do not like choose-your-own-ending stories. They are way too frustrating.

I died a total of 5 times. I started my journey out by asking my mother what was wrong, she told me then I lift the rock. I decided to take the trip but land, I went the wrong way, went there many times until I relized I couldn't kill the donkey with issues. I then went down the road less traveled, the dark and sinister one. I soon met the old man and battled Sinus, the cracked out tree man, who needs some eye drops. Then I made my way to Athens. I talked to the old man and he informed me about the sacrifises, then on to the vailed woman, really wasnt my cup of tea or wine, whatever. So then I talked to the urchin. From there I went to palace and met the crazy witch. She then asked me questions and threatened to kill me, nothing new there. I was summonded from creepy whore to whithering old man. I was asked to drink from a cup, I toasted the kings' good health and just before I drank, he yelled for me to stop. The cup was posioned, go figure. Crazy woman did a Hudini impersonation, poof disapeared.

What's Heroic about Theseus is his courage and bravery, but he betrays Ariadne which isnt very heroic, and he forgets to use the white sails, which is disappointing because he is supposedly wise and it ends up killing his father. Choices impact a persons life by deciding whether or not they drown in a room in the labrynth or if they have a trusty ratboy on their side or a traitorous little girl...mong other things. Being a hero is easy when you have nintendo-style reincarnation, though I'm pretty sure none of us would have made it past the first bandit withoutt that. I prefer this method because its a little more game-ish, which is a lot more fun than listening to your classmates monotone voices or reading by yourself.

Anonymous said...

Whats heroic about theseus is that he has alot of courage to go on the voyage his father sends him on. Killin his father wasn't heroic at all. Choices can impact a persons life because you don't know what to choose between two decisions.I think being a hero would be hard because you would die alot probably and have to fight alot of crime

Anonymous said...

differt story and every little descion can affect your life he seems heroic but idk .. nnoble is closer to the trtuth .. i died 7 in the 2nd part

Anonymous said...

the second journey was alot harder than the first one. there were alot more choices to choose from which made making a decision harder. i kept talking to the wrong people and died like a million times and then i finally talked to the right person and made it and killed that girls brother and made her theseus' wife. then had him ditch her and the end. he finally got to rule.

#1 what is heroic about theseus is that he steps up when no one else will and does what needs to be done. he's nt heroic because he betrays that girl and kills her brother.
#2 choices impact a persons life because if u dont make the right choices u have to deal with the consequences they are sometimes bad and sometimes good. your choices depend on the outcome.
#3 im not a hero so idk if being a hero is easy or not.
#4 i like this method of reading a story because u get to choose wat u think is best.

Today's journey was a lot harder than yesterdays. i died numerous times. Theseus is heroic because he will do anything to prove to athens that he is worthy to be the king. At the same time he thinks he's invincible and he's definitely not. After reading this story i have realized that even the smallest choices you make in life can cause big things to happen. After this journey i have decided that being a hero is not easy at all.

Anonymous said...

I had the same stradegy as yesterday in some way. When she said directions I remembered them which helped me get through without getting killed with the left, left, through two rooms then left again. If I choose the wrong one I would go back and choose a different route to take.In my journey he killed the minotaur and escaped back to his ship, suceeding in the end.I think sometimes its hard being a hero cause you have to make the right choices in order to succeed. The thing that is heroic about Theseus is that he overcomes everything in life and tries to do the right things. Some of his ways that he goes about things arent the best.Choices impact everyday life by making it through in life. I think that it is more fun to read it as a class like in a play type form, just my opinion.

Anonymous said...

1. Theseus is heroic because he wanted to prove himself to the city instead of just walking into power but he isn't because he betrayed that girl
2. the choices you make impact your choices a lot because every time I would make the smallest choice I could die in this game.
3.It is tough to be a hero. You have to do a lot of things that are tough and always things that are dangerous.
4.I personally prefer just reading because I get really frustrated every time I die

Todays journey was tough because the boat I died over and over trying to get it taken over then the little tunnel cave thing I stepped up and made it through to the garden. I finished the rest without very much trouble at all.

Anonymous said...

my journey was very interesting. i died like 15 times but it was ridiculous. i finally figured out where to go and finally finished the story. theseus was heroic because he was travelling for a noble cause to live up to be his fathers heir. although he wasn't the sharpest tool in the shed. anywho choices you make in life can lead to life altering situations. they can give you great fortunes or they can take your life. being a hero is not easy because you must make life threatening decisions at every corner. although i did enjoy doing the story like this i must admit i like reading better. i prefer to read alone or as a class rather than doing it all online like this. i did have alot of fun though and i do hope that we do it again.

My journey in the second part of the story took forever! i couldn't exactly find the right route and i kept dying so to answer how many times i died, at least 2347850347850245783057834905732480957348905734829753402573892405734257023457304579083425789034257890342758934275983427597342573429572348957348925734892578923475823479593475333times. So as you can see it took me forever to finish the flippin story.
I think that Theseus is heroic simply because of the amount of courage that it takes for him to complete the journey. Although he needed a lot of help and kept getting lost and involved in other things so he wasn't all that heroic.
They are what decides what happens in your life so the choices you make will determine your success in life.
It can be easy, it all depends on the quest or task that is given.
It can be pretttttty frustrating to have to constantly go back and try again on the account of your dead! But it can be pretty sweet because you are experiencing all different kinds of ending for the story and ya....HA

Anonymous said...

The heroic part of theseus is that he doesnt want to just take kingship the easy way.He is not heroic because he caused his dads death. If you make the wrong choice people can die.Being a hero is rough stuff. This way of reading is better because it is more fun to follow and stay involved because we get to choose our fate.

so i think its really dumb that he forgot to change the sails and his father died!!! what a terrible ending. but whatever, i guess this story was ok he went on a ship to minos kingdom then took over the ship then went and found a maze where he watched the guy and boy fly away and live and then he waited for the prinecess. The princess came and helped him by holding string while he went in to kill her brother. So he went in and killed him and found his way back out. then he took her and they left the island but somewhere along the way he left her (jerk) and he went back home and FORGOT to put up white sails so his father jumped off the cliff and then he took over the kingdom and made peace with minos.
the end (terrible)

Also answer these questions:

What is heroic about Theseus? What isn't?
How he does all this just to prove to Athens that he is worthy to be their king.

How do choices impact a person's life?
Well if you make one wrong decision.. you could die!

Is being a hero easy?
NO!! you have to do alot of wild things just to get your heroic deed done.

Do you prefer this method of storytelling to a regular narrative? Why or why not?

Narrative. this is wayy to stressful! it was hard to choose which thing to do!

Anonymous said...

My journey was interesting... expecially because i kept dying... infact, i lost count of how many times i died. it sucked... this story was VERY long, but it was a good one. um... i don't exactly know what to say about it so i'm gonna end my post here

Theseus is Heroic in the simple fact that he is trying to honor his kingship before he is king. BUT he is very sneeky around Ariadne. If you dont make the right choices you will die, it's as simple as that. It is not easy being a hero, Theaeus has a lot of things to do. I Like this method of story telling but I am a slow reader and I don't like being rushed when I read (It makes me read slower). So if you are talking about the class reading the stories together when you say "regular narrative" then I would say stick with that.

my journey was pretty effortless. i did some training and then my mother told me to lift the boulder and i politely told her no. i told her i had nothing to prove and she understood. oh, and she said i'll never be a king. i don't think that woman has a whole lot of faith in me. lifting a boulder shouldn't be the only way i can become a king. i don't see how that makes sense but, eh.
i didn't die.

on this journey i died 5 times.
i was doing good with journey. i moved the rock, went tho athens by land, choose the right path and and killed the sins. when i finally got to Athens i talked to all the people but the urchin boy got me into the palace. when i met with medea was all 5 times i dies. i finally picked the right option and went to toast my father when he reconized me as his son

My journey was definately an experiance. After i agreed to move the boulder, i decided to take the land instead of the sea. When I approached the three paths is where i made my mistake. I took the right path twice and died both times. Then I decided to go down the middle path and was killed there too. Thats when I decided i would take the left path, which took me many tries to be successfull. I couldnt not make up my mind on who to talk to, until I finally felt confident with the urchin, and accepted his offer. I wasd definately relieved to make it to my father.

Josh said...

overall, I died only 4 times. The first time i died i approached the wrong path. I finally decided to pick the right path. I was moving along pretty well until i came across a monster. I tried to stab him but i died like right away. I finally killed him. Once i got to athens i moved pretty well. I died only once after i got there. I finally met up with the king though. I was successful though.

Throughout my journey, i only died once. Great job for me. Anyway, decided to roll the stone away and collect the sword and sandals. I then went by sea, and found that Posiden was my other father. I'm not so sure how that works though. Then I went to the "castle" and met Meadia and to my surprise she didn't kill me. Then i made a toast to my father the King of Athens and he recognized the sword as i stood up. And with that said I was reunited with my father...(and it feels so good. Ha.)

Crystal Rose said...

okay so i decided i wasn't fully satisfied with my ending. that and i realized i wasn't done so i went the other way and lifted it, travled by land, took the left path, i think, asked everybody but the urchin then i did and agreed to his plan, i toasted my cup with the king and was reunited with my dad. i think i'm going to read the actual story out of the book. because i'm lame.
this time i died at least 17 times.

Ethan VanDusen said...

My journey has been pretty rough. I first tried to lift the rock and somehow it fell on me and i died. Then i tried to lift it again and... died again. I tried one more time to lift the bolder and died again so I had to try a different approach. I then speak to mother instead and lift the rock. I then grab the items and ask mother about the sea path and she said it was less danger as far as obstacles but not with mother nature. So i decide to take the sea path. I walk until I see a guy with a ship and ask him for a ride to Athens but he wants me to give him my sword as a trade so i decline and leave to the town. As i go into town i get followed and killed. I then decide to act like im going to attack the guy with the ship so he lets me on. I then advise them to sail closer to the shore and that gets me killed. I then get thrown over board I then come back and they think I am a god. I finally get to Athens and talk to the urchin boy and then the lady. I then toast him and the story is over. I died around 12 times

Ariel said...

I had decided to lift the rock and travel to Athens by land. I met a bandit along they way but defeated him and the news traveled quickly. Once I got to Athens I was confused on what to do. But when I talked to the urchin it seemed I had made the right choice. I died more than a couple times along the way. The priestess was very confusing and I could never figure out what her plan was. But I finally figured it out and everything was how it should be.

After i finished the game i had only died 3 times. once to the fat guy on the hill, once by the guards outside of the kings castle and once by his Queen. After i had made the toast to him with the golden cup, and he had seen the sword, i was in the clear and i had finished the game.

Wes said...

Well i ended up killing Thesus like 4 times in my story. First i didnt lift the rock and it killed me. Then i tried to grab my sword on the sailor and he stabbed me. Then i tried to swim all the way to land avoiding the light and well that killed me too. Then the veiled woman decides to stab me too so that is not cool. So Medea gets really nosy when Thesus meets her, so Thesus tells her the king needs help with the sacrifices to Crete.

josh "sexy" bierle said...

ok, i died like 15 times...really stupid. But alright, Theseus grows up training and getting strong, one day his mother is upset...he lifts the rock and gets his dads sword and sandals. i set out on my way on land...killed a bad guy, then talked to the urchin...told him something about a sacrifice and that i was to help the king, then i toasted to the king with the kings cup and i was reunited with my father...cool

I started at the beginning, when Theseus was young and trying to become strong, and I as I continued my journey I died about 13 times. I picked a lot of the options which would lead to death so then I would go back and pick the other option. This form of story telling is very interesting because the reader gets to feel as if they are helping Thesus on his adventure.

My journey seems to be neverending. My mother finally told me i have grown strong enough to be able to meet my father but that was only on one cause, to be able to lift the rock. I approached to lift the rock and accomplished it. Under the rock there was a sward and sandals. Before i was headed to Athens I asked my mother if I should take the sea or land. She encourage me to take the sea so i did. I ran into some men before getting onto the sea and they at first werent having it. We got into a little scrammble unto they noticed my strenghth and allowed me to travel to Athens with them. A storm approached and fights were breaking out. The clouds kept getting closer and closer so to my knowledge thinking the storm was because of me i jump into the sea.......couldnt finish.

The first obstacle i came upon was to choose which path i would take left middle or right, i chose the middle path nd i sadly died. i then choose the right path i ended up killing a creature named sinis. after that the path became one path again and i headed to the agoara of athens. Once i got there i chose to go straight there and try to see the King, and i failed. After i went to the talk to the Urchin and [[thats where i stopped]].

my journey was deadly. I died about 8 times in the story. I first lift the rock and killed myself then tried again and ended up making it all the way into the town to go by sea where the villagers jumped me and killed me again. So land sounded the best route! I went down each path and died on each path until i finally concured the beast on the tree path and made my way into Athens, from there i talked to an old man about how his daugher was to be sacrificed and promised to try to get her back for him. Then I talked to a young boy who said his father was a gaurd at the palace and would announce my arrival if i wanted. So I did and ended up making it in to meet with the High Priestess where she killed me for lying. That was fun, but on the second time I told her i was there to help the king with the sacrifices in Crete and we got inturuped by the guards who told us to make our way to the hall for a dinner. There i outsmarted the High Priestess and did not drink the beverage but insted toasted the king who then saw my sword and realized it was me, his son. He then yelled at the crazy witch lady and said she would be put to death for trying to convince him to kill his only heir but she used her witch powers and vanished in thin air and was never seen in Athens again.

I began my journey like everyone else with my mother. When arriving at the boulder I asked my mother for her opinion and her words motivated me to lift the rock. I then asked her opinion on travel and took her recommended path, the sea. At first I passed the strange man, but this led to my first death. So I returned and spoke with him. My first try I ignored his request. I then agreed to give my sword which led him to kill me again. So I then drew my sword. While on the ship I said nothing and had them throw me overboard. Then swam toward the light and met my other father Posiedon. I then soon reached the city talked to the urchin and was quickly in the royal keep. After telling the priestess that I wanted to help with the sacrifices to crete we were hurried to the king's banquet. I then rose to toast the king and he saw my sword. I found my father and completed the first part of my journey. And I only died three times.

She told me that behind this boulder on a cliff was items that would basically help my on my jouney to see my father. I begin my journey and i took to the seas. I made it there and talked to all of the 3 options, i got killed by tha old lady, and promised an old man i would save his daughter. Then the urchin knew somebody and i got to finally get a chance to see my dad. But then this chic named madea wanted to meet me and basically was just be noisy and tried to control me. Then me and her were invited to lunch and she almost had my own father posion me, but he didn't because when i stood up to give him a toast, he saw my sword and realized that i was his son and then he sent that "wrectched" women away, that was just day one.

So, my Thesus died about 10 or 15 times. He went through just about every obstacle and in the end he always ended up dying. Even if he went to a pretty girl. They kept luering him in. The first time i started Thesus decided to stay home with his mom, but then the story ended there so i had to make it more exciting. That's when all the dying started. I was just trying to make him seem like a nice guy and help people out, but that never got him very far. He slept, killed evil creatures, promised an old man to help find his daughter, made enemies with the locals, and finally got into the palace. Except every time i tried a different path for him with the princess he always ended up dying. So i don't know if that was the end of level one or what. Each path for him was not a pretty one. It was pretty brutal. The next path will probably be just as bad.

The journey i picked for Theseus to take was a long one. The poor guy died like 15 times. After speaking to all of the weird people in the marketplace, he finally found one whome was able to lead him to his father (this leader was the urchin), the king. Upon arriving in the castle, Theseus died like 5 more times from poor decision making. But in the end after many choice re-do's Theseus was able to get to the king and make a toast, the end.
